Mamachi

Mamachi is definitely one of those restaurants in Malta that deserves a full five stars. The menu is beautifully put together, with a great selection of dishes that feel creative, fresh, and carefully prepared. Everything we tried was full of flavour, well presented, and clearly made with quality ingredients.

What really makes the experience special, though, is the atmosphere. The restaurant has a stylish, warm and sophisticated vibe without feeling overly formal, making it perfect for both a special occasion and a relaxed evening out.

The combination of excellent food, beautiful presentation, great ambience, and attentive service makes Mamachi a place I would happily return to. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in Malta!

Wow absolutely fantastic restaurant. The service was so kind and energetic making for an unforgettable evening dinner (Our main waiter was Mildred, however, the other ones were nice as well). The food was tasty and cocktails were beautifully made, taste grade and made with a lot of imagination, as all the their “own house cocktails” were presented in a unique way.

As someone who has never left a Google review for a restaurant before, I felt so compelled to share my thoughts on this restaurant. I’ve lived in New York City for over four years and have tried an endless amount of restaurants, and Mamachi has easily made my top 10 restaurants of all time. We ordered the most amazing ceviche, the house special roll, and the short rib rice pot. The drinks were also phenomenal and the service was incredible. Cannot speak more highly of this restaurant, had an absolutely amazing experience all around!

Mamachi is located in St. Julian’s, one of the most vibrant and fashionable areas of Malta, just steps away from Portomaso and the Hilton, overlooking the marina. The setting is undoubtedly appealing, although access involves a long staircase which can be less convenient on the way back.

The venue is clearly designed to impress. Lighting, design and overall aesthetic create a strong visual identity, with a lively, international atmosphere. Music is a central part of the experience, though at times it becomes overly loud.

The cuisine follows an Asian fusion concept, with visually appealing dishes and attention to presentation. However, the experience leans more towards aesthetics than depth of flavor: sauces are often dominant, covering the raw ingredients rather than enhancing them. Execution is correct, but without particular standout elements.

Service is fast and generally efficient, though not always precise when explaining dishes and with room for improvement in attentiveness.

A positive note is the availability of cocktails alongside wine, although the level remains average.

Pricing feels relatively high compared to the overall experience, which is clearly more focused on atmosphere than on culinary substance.

A place that works well for a lively evening or for those seeking a visually engaging setting, less for those looking for a truly refined dining experience.

Every detail of the interior adds to the overall experience, making it a place you instantly feel good in.

The food was outstanding. Not only was it beautifully presented—exactly like the pictures—but every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. You can really tell that a lot of thought goes into both the taste and the presentation.

What made the experience even better was the staff. They were amazing—polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The service was smooth and professional without ever feeling rushed, and they made us feel truly welcome throughout our visit.

This is definitely a place worth visiting, whether for a special occasion or just a great meal out. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and service was spot on.

We will absolutely be coming back again!
