During a leisurely walk through the narrow streets, we stumbled upon Medina Restaurant after spotting a sign that caught our attention. Curious, we paused to look at the menu and were warmly greeted by the chef on his way into work, an early sign of the hospitality to come.
This Michelin-starred gem immediately felt special, so we decided to treat ourselves. Thankfully, the final bill was far from extortionate, especially considering the exceptional quality of the food, which easily surpassed other meals we’ve had at similar prices during our holiday.
On arrival, we were welcomed and seated in a beautiful covered courtyard, full of charm and atmosphere. We also met a lovely Japanese couple who told us this was their third visit, purely because the food was so good. After dining there, I completely understand why.
My daughter had the pork belly, which was absolutely delicious, with perfectly crisp crackling. I opted for the veal with polenta. Normally, I’m not a fan of polenta, but this completely changed my perspective—it was smooth, rich, and complemented the sauce beautifully.
To top it all off, the chef later came out, recognised us, and took the time to thank us personally for visiting. He spoke passionately about the hard work behind the restaurant and how pleased he was that we enjoyed our meal,an incredibly thoughtful and genuine touch.
I can highly recommend this restaurant,it’s a truly memorable dining experience in every sense
