The food was exceptional, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The overall experience was lovely, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the evening truly enjoyable. The staff struck the perfect balance between professionalism, knowledge, and humour, making us feel both well looked after and completely at ease. Outstanding service from start to finish. Highly recommended!
This was a dining experience worthy of a Michelin rating. The staff were, from front to back, incredibly well-trained and attentive. The atmosphere is elevated, but not pretentious. You can enjoy conservation without feeling like you’ve ruined the ambiance of the restaurant.z
And then the food and drink - amazing. I don’t think you could wish for a better meal.
Great service and food from start to finish, as you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Every dish was creative and well balanced. Staff very knowledgeable and took great care throughout the 3 hour meal. I would not be surprised if the restaurant gets another star anytime soon.
Dinner at Under Grain was truly a memorable experience! The vibe of the restaurant under the hotel creates an exclusive but not stuffy environment. It was lovely starting with a taste of Malta’s local sparkling wine, the sommelier was friendly and helpful with our selection throughout the dinner. We tasted the seasonal chefs menu and each dish was more creative and delicious than the last and I especially appreciated the special touches for my birthday. I highly recommend dining here for any trip to Valletta!
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and excellent service. The staff attentiveness is very good.
The food, however, leaves much to be desired. The snacks had a crumbly pastry. The main courses were extremely heavy, greasy, and salty. There was so much salt that I could not finish some of the dishes. I pointed this out to the waiters, but the subsequent dishes still arrived with excessive salt. The desserts were extremely mediocre, such as a reimagining of a Ferrero Rocher. One expects much more from a restaurant with one michelin star. The wine service also left a lot to be desired. I spent almost the entire dinner with an empty glass, having to request more wine multiple times.
I do not recommend it.
